Celebrating World Tourism Day

Treats for Guests at The Palace

The 27th of September 2017 marked the United Nations World Tourism Organization’s annual World Tourism Day which this year coincides with the celebration of the International Year of Sustainable Tourism for Development.

It is estimated that tourism is responsible for 10% of global GDP and for this reason, the United Nations regards tourism as an important vehicle for sustainable socio-economic development that enriches both the host country and travellers.

To celebrate this special day for the hospitality industry, The Palace management prepared and offered guests drinks and traditional Maltese sweets. This provided the ideal informal setting within which guests could meet to talk and share travelling experiences.
