A FUN-FILLED SUMMER AWAITS IN SLIEMA!
Summer in Malta is all about having fun, letting loose and well, staying up until odd hours. Even if you’ve got work the next day or perhaps you’ve got a tour to get to, somehow staying out that extra hour to dance the night away or staying up to watch the sunrise is a true summer vibe – at least the local one is so.
If you’re coming to Malta this July, here are just some of the events and things to do in Sliema and beyond to make your stay all the more memorable.
DAILY BEACH VIBES AT PARADISE EXILES
Paradise Exiles is situated along the Sliema promenade and a local that is frequented by so many locals, expats and visitors. Think party scene by the water’s edge, and you’ve got the perfect description of the vibe at Paradise Exiles. Offering food and drinks in abundance, this establishment really brings the summer vibes, inviting local bands to entertain on the daily during the summer months. You’ll be standing up and dancing the night away in no time!
LEWIS CAPALDI LIVE IN CONCERT
On Saturday 2nd July, renowned Scottish artist Lewis Capaldi will be taking the stage at the Floriana Granaries. The ‘Someone You Loved’ singer will be performing all his famous songs live in Malta in this open-air space. Make sure to get your tickets before they run out! Our advice to anyone attending: hydrate well as it tends to get very hot, even though it’s an open-air performance, and definitely wear closed shoes!
MALTA INTERNATIONAL FOOD FESTIVAL
If you’re a discerning foodie, then this event should definitely be on your itinerary! The Malta International Food Festival is the island’s largest food event, happening between 13th and 17th July this year at the Valletta Tritoni Square, right outside City Gate. Tokens are purchased at the event and can be used to try dishes from various stalls together with drinks and high-quality wines. The event sees a multitude of cuisines under one roof and gives attendees the opportunity to chat with fellow gourmands, share passions and indulge in mouth-watering dishes from around the globe.
BOAT TOURS
Boat tours are a plenty in Malta and being situated by the sea, there are a bunch to choose from in Sliema. Simply walk down to the Sliema Ferries, just a 5-minute walk away from AX The Palace and take your pick! There are tours that take you around the harbour, to neighbouring Valletta, and some even go all the way up to Gozo and Comino for the day.
YOUR CLASSIC BEACH BBQ
A summer in Malta isn’t complete without a beach BBQ. The rocky area along the Sliema coast can be used for gas and charcoal BBQs. Of course, respect the environment, the surroundings and those using the area after you and clean up properly. But other than that, grab your chairs, get cooking and watch the sun go down along the coast. And hey, perhaps even head in for a pre-BBQ swim! The perfect summer night if you ask us!
